About The Venice Golf and Country Club
The Venice Golf and Country Club is a gated community of 587 properties on Center Road, about three miles east of the U.S. 41 Bypass and a mile from I-75 at exit 193. It sits a few minutes from downtown Venice and the beaches, and about 20 minutes from downtown Sarasota.
Homeowners have owned the club since its start in 1991, and it is the only private, member-owned golf and country club in Venice. Membership comes with the home: each owner chooses a Golf membership or a Club membership that covers the clubhouse, wellness center, tennis, aquatic and dining amenities. The club has a par 72, 18-hole course, four Har-Tru tennis courts and pickleball, and the community is golf cart friendly.
The community covers about 460 acres with nature preserves and wildlife sanctuaries. Homes have been built from 1991 onward, and recent single-family sales ranged from about 1,600 to 3,700 square feet. Six of the neighborhoods are maintained, with exterior maintenance included and pools of their own. Prices over the last two years have run about $319,000 to $1,495,000.
There are no CDD fees here. Owners pay Master Association dues, which cover the gates, gatehouse security, private roads, landscaping and preserves, along with the annual club membership. I would be glad to walk you through the neighborhoods inside the gates and how each one handles maintenance.

Is club membership required at The Venice Golf and Country Club?
Yes. Membership comes with the home. Every homeowner selects either a Golf membership or a Club membership, and the club does not offer non-resident memberships.
What does the Club membership include?
The Club membership includes unlimited access to the clubhouse, wellness center, tennis, aquatic and dining amenities. The Golf membership adds play on the private course, and the community is golf cart friendly.
Are there CDD fees?
No. The community has no Community Development District fees. Homeowners pay Master Association dues and club membership fees each year.
What does the Master Association maintain?
The Master Association maintains the common grounds, including the private roads, entry gates, gatehouse security, landscaping, nature preserves and wildlife sanctuaries. It also offers members one acre of secured outdoor storage for recreational vehicles.
Are there maintained neighborhoods?
Yes. Six neighborhoods inside the community are designated maintained neighborhoods, with exterior maintenance, common pools and a variety of events.
