South Bayview Estates is a small neighborhood in western Port Charlotte, the largest community in Charlotte County. Port Charlotte is unincorporated and governed by the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners. The subdivision plat was recorded in 1998. The land is flat and low, in FEMA's coastal floodplain, and the county's comprehensive plan designates the area for low density residential use and preservation.

The neighborhood has about 57 lots on two streets, Collingswood Boulevard and O'Hara Drive, and every one of them is a waterfront lot. About 50 lots have single-family homes, and the rest are vacant residential lots. Waterfront homes here are built with concrete seawalls and private docks. The homes were built from 1998 on, with several newer homes completed from 2020 to 2024. The neighborhood is zoned RSF3.5, a single-family residential district, and the South Bayview Estates Property Owners Association, Inc. is an active Florida nonprofit corporation.

Port Charlotte Town Center and the shops along US 41, the Tamiami Trail, are about 15 minutes away by car, and HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital and AdventHealth Port Charlotte are in Port Charlotte. Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) is about 30 minutes away, Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers is about 65 minutes south, and Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is about 75 minutes north.
