Anglers Club at Boca Grande is a gated neighborhood in Placida, in the southwest corner of Charlotte County, on Anglers Club Drive and Anglers Way near Coral Creek Club on Gasparilla Road. It is a short drive from the Boca Grande Causeway to Gasparilla Island and close to Gasparilla Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway. The owners association is formally named the Coral Creek Anglers Club Owners Association, and the community is also known as Coral Creek Anglers Club.

The community mixes elevated townhomes, with parking and storage underneath, and single-family homes on larger lots, built from the early 2000s to the present. Homes sold from about $830,000 to $3.2 million in the last two years. A community boat basin with a common dock serves owners and their guests, with private slips at the west end, and the association keeps a clubhouse, a pool and a recreation area. The streets are private and the entrance is gated.

The association, managed by Grande Property Services, publishes its rules, boat basin rules and rental rules. Coral Creek Club nearby is a private golf club with membership by invitation; it is not part of the homeowners association. Gasparilla Road leads north to State Road 776 and on toward Port Charlotte and I-75, and the Boca Grande Causeway leads to Gasparilla Island.

Is Anglers Club part of Coral Creek Club?

No. Coral Creek Club, at 13111 Gasparilla Road in Placida, is a private golf club with a Tom Fazio-designed course, membership by invitation and no surrounding residential development. Anglers Club at Boca Grande is a separate homeowners community nearby; its association is formally named the Coral Creek Anglers Club Owners Association. Owning a home in Anglers Club does not include a golf membership.

How does the boat basin work?

The community dock is for owners, renters and guests, and each boat must show an association sticker or mooring tag. One boat per property may be moored at the common dock on a first-come basis, with more only by board approval, and the owner or a responsible person must be in residence. Slips on the west end are private. Live-aboards, commercial boats including fishing guides, fueling and repairs at the dock are not allowed, and all boats must leave the dock when a hurricane warning is issued. Boat owners must carry liability insurance at the levels the board sets.

What are the main community rules?

The streets and walkways are private and the community is gated. Boat trailers, RVs and commercial vehicles cannot park on the roads or common areas without approval. Dogs must be leashed on common areas and are not allowed at the recreation area, and the declaration prohibits certain breeds. Rentals follow separate rental rules and a rental management form. Who manages the community?

The association is managed by Grande Property Services in Rotonda West. Its governing documents, rules and rental forms are posted on the association's website.

What should I check about flood risk?

Charlotte County's Forerunner portal shows a property's flood zone and base flood elevation and offers available elevation certificates. Flood insurance is required in A and V zones for federally backed mortgages. Ask for the elevation certificate and get flood and wind insurance quotes before you commit.
