About Seaside Gardens
Seaside Gardens is a small neighborhood in Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island, with a layout found nowhere else in the city. Most homes are attached townhomes set in duplexes and triplexes, with some single-family homes, built between 1962 and 1974. Owners meet each year through the Seaside Gardens civic association and homeowners group.
The homes are compact, about 736 to 1,150 square feet, and most of the townhomes sit at ground level. The neighborhood is in the city's R-4 medium density residential district. Holmes Beach has allowed storm-damaged units to be rebuilt to current flood elevations since Ordinance 23-19 in 2023, and in 2026 the city took up Ordinance 26-03 to allow owners to rebuild and elevate a unit voluntarily. A few elevated townhomes with parking below now stand beside original ground-level units.
Recent asking prices here have run from about $435,000 to $700,000. When you compare units, it pays to look closely at whether a home is original or rebuilt and at the shared-wall arrangement with the neighboring unit. In 2026 the city took up Ordinance 26-03 to let owners rebuild and elevate a unit voluntarily. Because units share common walls, the rules for any rebuild matter, and I would be glad to go over the current city code and the association rules for a specific unit with you before you write an offer.
