Serenoa is a golf course neighborhood east of I-75 in Sarasota, built around Serenoa Golf Club. The public 18-hole course, designed by David Martin Alden, plays to about 6,270 yards through native wetlands, with water in play on every hole and the Serenoa Bar and Grill on site.
Homes in Serenoa are single-family, built from 1992 to 2004, many with golf course or lake views. Serenoa Lakes, a gated section established in 1999, holds 92 custom Arthur Rutenberg homes on 185 acres with mature trees and six lakes, on lots of half an acre to one acre. The lakes are used for fishing, canoeing and kayaking.
Across Serenoa, homes run about 2,692 to 5,054 square feet and sold for about $745,000 to $1.75 million in the last two years. I-75 is close by, and downtown Sarasota and Siesta Key are a drive west.
