Bay Isles is the gated, master-planned community in the middle of Longboat Key, on a private interior road on the bay side of the island. It holds 19 neighborhoods, from condominiums and attached villas to single-family homes, many with direct views of Sarasota Bay. Entries are gated and staffed around the clock, and shaded sidewalks run through the community for walking and cycling.

The single-family homes in the main Bay Isles plat include two neighborhoods. Bay Isles Harbor, at the south end, is a boating neighborhood of 67 architect-designed homes on four quiet streets laid out around wide canals, every one with bay views, and a park runs the length of Harbor Sound Drive. The Bayou has 126 custom homesites behind a royal palm entrance: 49 on the Bay Isles Waterway and the rest on the golf course, a lake or garden lots, on streets with sidewalks, streetlights and a canopy of trees.

Residents use the private Bay Isles Beach Club across Gulf of Mexico Drive. The Harbourside golf course, the Tennis Gardens and the Longboat Key Club Moorings marina are inside the community, and the town offices, library, post office and Publix sit just outside the north gates. St. Armands Circle is about 6 miles south by road and Sarasota Bradenton International Airport about 13 miles.

Which homes are in the Bay Isles subdivision?

Bay Isles is made up of 19 neighborhoods with their own associations. The single-family homes in the main Bay Isles plat include Bay Isles Harbor, 67 architect-designed homes on four streets around wide canals at the south end, and The Bayou, 126 custom homesites with 49 on the Bay Isles Waterway and the rest on the golf course, a lake or garden lots. Queens Harbour, Sabal Cove, Corey's Landing and the condominiums have their own pages.

Can I get to the Gulf beach from Bay Isles?

Yes. Residents use the private Bay Isles Beach Club across Gulf of Mexico Drive at 2111 Gulf of Mexico Drive, with an attendant, covered entertaining area, restrooms, changing rooms, picnic tables, grills, a volleyball court and storage bins for beach gear.

Do Bay Isles homes have boat docks?

Many do. Bay Isles Harbor is laid out on wide canals off Sarasota Bay, and some Bayou homes sit on the Bay Isles Waterway. The Longboat Key Club Moorings, with 291 storm-protected slips for boats up to 150 feet, is inside Bay Isles. Dock size and water depth vary by lot.

What is just outside the Bay Isles gates?

The Longboat Key town offices, library, post office, banks, the community tennis center and a Publix and CVS shopping center sit just outside the north gates. City Island and St. Armands Circle are a short drive south over the New Pass bridge.
