About Seaplace

Seaplace is a gated condominium community on the Gulf of Mexico on south Longboat Key, with its clubhouse at 2045 Gulf of Mexico Drive. With 461 residences, it is one of the largest condominium associations on the island. Arvida developed it, and its buildings went up in phases between 1974 and 1979 as Seaplace I through VI.

Recent homes have been about 930 to 1,260 square feet, and recent prices have run from about $499,000 to $1.15 million. The association keeps an active calendar, including a New Year's Day plunge in the Gulf that has run for about 20 years.

The St. Regis Longboat Key resort is about a third of a mile from the south gate, and St. Armands Circle and downtown Sarasota are a short drive away.
