Horton is a Texas production builder founded in 1978 in Fort Worth and headquartered in Arlington, and it has been the largest homebuilder by volume in the United States since 2002, with operations in 126 markets in 36 states. Its Sarasota division sells townhomes, paired and twin villas and single-family homes across Manatee and Sarasota counties, in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch (Star Farms), Parrish, Palmetto, Sarasota and Venice (Wellen Park), while its Southwest Florida division sells Central Parc in North Port. Homes come from its Express Series for first-time buyers, the Tradition Series, the low-maintenance Freedom Series and the Emerald luxury series, with published base prices locally from about $265,000 to $742,000. Local homes are built of concrete block on both floors and come with a smart home automation package, and buyers can finance, insure and close through its own DHI Mortgage, DHI Title and DRH Insurance.
